If Your Dog is Older Than Five, Read This

If your pet is older than 5 read this

Rocky is my soulmate.

Yes, he’s a dog, but he feels like my heart’s dog. Like the dog I was always meant to have. I know that may sound cuckoo to some people, but the reality is I love him more than I’ve loved most people. He’s more loyal and loving and understanding than most people. He’s truly my best friend.

I’ve gone through some difficult times this year and it is no exaggeration to say that he’s been my rock, through and through. When I lost my husband, it was like he could just sense my sadness, and he never left my side. He mourned with me.

Truly, sometimes I wonder who rescued who. Rocky came from a bad situation and wasn’t chosen at the humane society for a long time, and he’s always seemed so grateful for being adopted.

Even though he faced so much trauma, he never lost that spark in him eye, that prance in him step, that love of walks and playing.

But then…time passed, as it always does.

And Rocky grew older. He started slowing down. Old age was getting to him. It wasn’t fair. He started getting stressed and panting more at night and barking at his own shadow. He couldn’t even get restful sleep.

The worst part was him eyes growing dull and sad–he couldn’t understand why he couldn’t run and play as hard as he used to.

And then he lost interest in playing all together. He didn’t want to go on walks. He didn’t follow me from room to room like he used to. He just laid in him bed all day. When I took him on walks, he’d walk stiffly behind me. When I tossed a toy for him, he’d just stare at it. At the dog park, he started laying at my feet instead of playing with other dogs.

I couldn’t stand the thought of saying goodbye, not so soon after I lost my husband. I wasn’t ready for it, so I started trying everything I could think of.

I tried giving him supplements, switching him to a raw diet, giving him more exercise. I even brought my Rocky to a dog masseuse. (Yes, dog massage is a real thing!)

Some things I tried seemed to help him a little bit (like the raw diet) but mostly, there was little to no improvement and then whatever improvement he got, went away after a while.

Rocky only seemed to get worse. His hips wobbled and his legs trembled.

But, and maybe it was my own selfishness, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye and I didn’t think Rocky was ready to say goodbye either. Maybe his eyes didn’t sparkle like they used to, but I could see a little ember of life in them.

Where Rocky used to jump into my car himself, now I’d lift Rocky up into my car and out of the car when we went to the dog park.

I was sitting on a bench, trying to focus on the book I was reading, but it was hard to focus when Rocky was laying on the dirt like a dried-out snail, not interested in even looking at the dogs that came up to sniff him.

That’s when an acquaintance I knew from the dog park came and sat next to me. (To be honest, I forgot her name, so I’ll just call her Kristen.)

“Rocky looks really tired,” Kristen said.  “He must have played really hard to be so tired!” she laughed.

I shook my head sadly, “No, I’m afraid Rocky’s just been losing his energy lately. He doesn’t even want to go for walks anymore. My vet said it is just what happens to senior dogs. I’m starting to wonder if I’m being a bad dog-mom by taking him to the dog park when he clearly isn’t enjoying himself anymore.”

Kristen frowned at me, “No, my dog, Taxi, is a 14 year old and he still loves the dog park and walks!” Kristen pointed at her medium-sized mixed breed, who was busy carrying a stick around that was longer than his whole body. It made me smile at the sight, but it also made me sad that Rocky wasn’t happy like Taxi.

“I wish Rocky could have Taxi’s energy,” I said. “I’m afraid I don’t have much time left with him. His joints are stiff and I think he’s even getting anxiety from his age.” I bit back my tears.

Kristen looked at me with her eyebrows raised into her hairline, “Don’t be silly!” she said. “Have you even tried Relievet yet? I felt the same way about Taxi as you’re feeling about Rocky last year. He was hobbling all over the place and was in so much pain that he didn’t even want to be pet. My vet told me about Relievet though, and Relievet has gotten Taxi back on his feet and back to causing mayhem!” She chuckled, “He’s so mischievous.”

“What’s Relievet?” I asked, trying to get the conversation back on track.

“Relievet is a company that sells organic treats, chews, and oils for dogs with scientifically backed ingredients. My vet told me that apparently a lot of supplements for dogs sold online don’t have what they say they have in them so it is really important to get it from a trusted source like Relievet who publish all of their lab results online and even have a pharmacist to make sure all the dosing is scientifically accurate to get results.”

I sucked at my teeth, skeptical. “I don’t know, I’ve already tried so many things, I’m nervous about spending more money on this when I don’t think anything will help.”

Kristen shrugged, “They have a money-back guarantee.  But I don’t think that will be an issue for you. You just have to be consistent with it though, when I forget to give Taxi his treats in the morning he is stiffer by the evening.”

I thanked Kristen for her recommendation but decided to do my own research when I got home. Could Relievet really be worth all the hype?

The first thing I looked at were the reviews. There were hundreds of great ones.

Here are a few of them I read on Google:

Customer reviews Customer reviews Customer reviews

I was shocked to see that they have a 5 out of 5 stars on Google reviews! They also have a 5 out of 5 on the BBB, a 5 out of 5 on Facebook and a 4.8 on their website with over 350 reviews.

It was hard to believe because I’d never seen a business so well-reviewed, but I’d also seen plenty of the reviews mentioning the personal touch of the owner, Chris, so I guessed it made sense. The reviews talked about his personal touch and how he often speaks to customers personally about their dogs and even sends handwritten notes to thank people for purchasing.

You just don’t hear about businesses caring that much about their customers nowadays. Or caring that much in general! On his website, you can even see a picture of him making the products himself.

Seeing the great deal on shipping, all those reviews, and the money-back guarantee, I knew I had to give Relievet a try for Rocky. This was our last chance.

Reading about it, I saw more about the science behind why Relievet works. Apparently, every mammal on the planet, including dogs, has what is called an endocanabanoid system, which ECS system regulates or influences many automatic bodily processes and functions, including the nervous system, appetite, memory, mood, and sleep.

I was skeptical, but the more I read, the more impressed I was. There was even a study on worms that showed that worms that that took C.B.D. at certain doses lived 18% longer!

And another study out of Britain showed that 100% of anxious dogs who took C.B.D. at the doses that Relievet recommends were calmer during car rides.

Relievet’s ingredients, such as broad spectrum C.B.D. help to regulate that system by attaching to endocanabanoid receptors in the body, bringing back a natural balance, that helps alleviate suffering in the body’s automatic bodily processes, promoting well being.

I ordered the oil and the mobility chews. I liked to see the oil was USDA organic certified. In case you didn’t know, it is really difficult to get that certification (you have to get inspected and everything.)!

Another thing important to me is the price and when I compared the quantity/quality/strength of the oil treats to other C.B.D. products from other companies, I realized that Relievet’s were the strongest by far and the cheapest actually by far in comparison when you look at the strength - especially when you take a look at their handy dosage calculator where you put in your dog’s weight and you’ll see how long each product will last and at what strength to give it.

And I also liked all the information they had on the page about why their products are the way they are, and why the C.B.D. should be the strength it is in the oil because so much C.B.D. is lost in digestion and so other C.B.D. dog products don’t have nearly strong enough weight-based dosing.

Most importantly (to me at least) was reading about how safe the products are. They’re as easy on the body as taking something like fish oil and they have the psychoactive properties of the hemp plant entirely removed, so no risk of changing your dog’s personality or making them overly lethargic..

The Relievet oil and chews arrived two days later with packaging that would be fit for sending expensive pottery.

Great packaging!

It also came with a cute little fridge magnet, a flier explaining exactly how to use them, and a note from their CEO thanking me for choosing them! I was impressed to see it truly was a small business, giving each customer personal attention.

Just holding the treat jar in my hands, I knew that I was holding a special product. It was nicer than the container most human food comes in! I could tell right away that I would be saving the jar when it was empty because it was such a nice one.

Of course, the real test was how Rocky would respond. He ate up the treats enthusiastically, and even started drooling, begging for more, and he easily let me place the oil in the side of his mouth, though he was confused at first!

Next, I sat and waited. And waited. I watched him for the next twenty minutes and nothing happened, but what did I expect? Him to start doing gymnastics?

About an hour later, though, I was watching TV when Rocky placed his favorite toy in my lap. He looked up at me expectantly, expecting me to throw it. My heart thumped in my chest–Rocky hadn’t asked me to play for months. I tossed the toy and then Rocky went to it, picked it up, and brought it back to his bed to sleep. He was done playing already–so I thought maybe it was a fluke. Maybe the Relievet wasn’t working afterall.

The next few days, on schedule, morning and night, I gave Rocky the Relievet.

At first the changes in Rocky were subtle, and I thought I was imagining them or they were a coincidence. He stopped panting at night. He seemed calmer during the day.

Then he started playing at the dog park, he played tug-a-war, he did his dance when I asked him about going on a walk.

The real kicker that proved to me that Relievet works is when I went out of town for a week and left Rocky at a dog boarder. I forgot to bring the Relievet with me for the boarder to give to him, so he didn’t get it for a week.

When I picked him up, he was back to being that rickety, sad, slow old dog he had been before I started giving his Relievet.

Now I hope to have a good few more years with Rocky, and it’s all thanks to Relievet.

I emailed the CEO Chris, to thank him for creating such great products, and to tell him I was planning on writing a blog post about Relievet.

He responded personally, first he thanked me for telling him all about Rocky. Then he thanked me for writing a blog post, and gave me a discount code we could share with my readers!

The discount code is: ROCKYLOVE you can use it to get 50% off your first order of treats!

Clicking or tapping the buttons below will bring you to Relievet, and the discount will show up whenever you add something to your cart.

Don’t forget, they make it super easy to figure out what to choose with their Dosage Calculator! Enter your pet's weight and it'll tell you how many treats to use, and how long the oil will last.

As soon as you place an order Relievet's small team will fulfill it as soon as possible and send it via USPS. You'll receive it in just a few days, and can start using it immediately. Just follow the recommendation from the dosage calculator for your pet.

It only takes about an hour for your pet to start experiencing the benefits, just like my Rocky did!

I’m truly so grateful to have my Rocky back. I hope to have a couple more happy years with him thanks to Relievet.

Thanks for reading, and wishing the best to you and your pets.
